It’s Episode 16 of Foul Territory: A Baseball Podcast, and Jed Rigney and Jon Sumple recap the Word Baseball Classic finale, which was far from classic, along with Christian Yelich emerging as a household name (Christian, who?), Kevin Kiermaier and Tim Anderson opting for six-year deals with their respective teams, Raisel Iglesias getting time off for inappropriate shower behavior, Cody Anderson going under the knife for TJ surgery, Fortune Magazine naming Cubs president Theo Epstein the World’s Greatest Leader (ahead of the Pope, Jeff Bezos and Donald Trump – ha!), and David Denson, baseball’s first openly gay player, hanging it up at age 22 (who knew?).

This week’s Starting Nine – players whose names have a St. Patrick’s Day flavor – was a little flat until Jed went full “Lucky Charms” mode to save the day.  This week’s preseason preview focuses on the AL Central and what appears to be a cakewalk for the Cleveland Indians, the only team projected by FanGraphs to be above .500 in the division.

Extra Innings wraps things up with March Madness, Kristi Yamaguchi telling Nancy Kerrigan to break a leg on DWTS, Tom Brady getting his jersey back (proving we need Trump’s wall), and the Power Rangers introducing a gay superhero to the silver screen.
