Mike Trout Bryce Harper MLB Playoff predictionsWe’ve reached the conclusion of this epic, three-part foray into predicting the 2018 MLB season. The emotion surrounding this ending is on par with the finale of Harry Potter. I’m waiting for the royalties like J.K. Rowling.

Anyway, get ready to pop your booty once more as I look into my crystal ball to see who is crowned champion of the 2018 season, complete with the soundtrack links to accompany their run to glory. Click the links to get your groove on. In case you missed part one and part two, please catch up.

National League Playoffs

Wildcard: Milwaukee Brewers defeat New York Mets

I doubt many are picking the Mets to get to this far after seeing the improvements of both the Rockies and Cardinals, but my grandpa is a Mets fan, and he says they will hit and stay healthy. If that happens, what dope would gamble on Chase Anderson head-to-head against Noah Syndergaard? Well, not me. I can see the Mets taking a flyer on Cole Hamels, James Shields or Patrick Corbin when the Diamondbacks are out of it. Enjoy the post-game celebration, Milwaukee, it won’t last long.

NLDS: Washington Nationals defeat San Francisco Giants

As much as I would love to pick the Giants, recent injuries have swayed my decision. However, I’m standing by my pick for them to make the playoffs because I have no money on the line, and it made a ton of sense two weeks ago. Today, it doesn’t make much sense, and the Nationals make quick work of Frisco to take the pressure off past failures. Yes, I know loccals hate that nickname, but I wanted to see if they were paying attention. You should really visit the city not just for baseball, although the park is amazing and logically built, but because it has a unique energy. It’s less aggressive than New York, but less vanilla the nice parts of Chicago.

NLDS: Chicago Cubs defeat Milwaukee Brewers

Destiny brought me to Chicago. I probably should have known. My birthday is the Chicago area code and I used to watch this every time I stayed home sick from school. Anyway, the Cubs move on. There’s just too much talent on this team to not reach their fourth consecutive LCS.

NLCS: Washington Nationals defeat Chicago Cubs

This series is going to be incredible. There’s no way it’s not a seven-game series. Unfortunately, for the Cubs, they’re going to be out-dueled by a future teammate. They’ll find out why there’s nobody like Bryce Harper as he pushes the Nationals to the World Series for the first time in team history.

American League Playoffs

Wildcard: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim defeat Boston Red Sox

I like Neil Diamond, but I can’t stand “Sweet Caroline” any more. Stop singing “so good, so good” and all the other ad lib parts that every drunk girl knows. They should consider switching the song. Here’s a personal favorite of mine from a very underrated movie.

ALDS: New York Yankees defeat Cleveland Indians

I need to do some research on back-to-back home runs by teammates in a season. Whatever the number is, it’s going to be broken this year. I want this to be the theme song for their season.

ALDS: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim defeat Houston Astros

Have you read about Albert Pujols life? It’s fascinating. Despite his sharp decline, last year was the first year his WAR was in the negative. I think we’re going to see one last season of vintage Pujols. The underdog takes down the champs in five.

ALCS: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim defeat New York Yankees

Mike Trout will be the happiest man alive after making a similar run as his fellow phenom in the National League. Like Harper, Trout will defeating his future team. Breaking their hearts up close and personal will be the basis of my future infatuation (if it’s not already there).

World Series

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim defeat Washington Nationals

One of the two greatest players of this generation gets a much-deserved ring. We get to see them match up, trying to will their teams to victory. An instant classic series continues the resurgence of baseball and all is right in the world. In the end, Mike Trout hits a homer to win it, looks up to the sky to see the Goodyear Blimp read, “Mike’s a pimp”.

There you have it. This is your musical guide for the 2018 season. Head to Vegas, place a bet and thank me later.
