The Chicago Cubs star slugger Kris Bryant has shoulder inflammation and was sent to the 10-day DL for the first time in his career. Cubs manager Joe Maddon doesn’t believe the injury is serious. He expects Bryant to return to the lineup when he’s eligible. Maddon added, "He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear! And he absolutely will not stop, ever."
Veteran right-hander Edwin Jackson made his debut with the Oakland Athletics in Monday's game in Detroit.
